Progressive Faith, Loving People

The Mission of First Christian Church is to be a community modeled after Christ’s ministry of compassion, caring and concern, welcoming a diversity of gifts, beliefs, and methods of service. We are an accepting Church for those needing a community that combines various traditions of the Christian faith. We seek unity in diversity, respect for variety, acceptance in disagreement, and give an open invitation to all.

First Christian Church is a member of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a protestant denomination that has its roots in the Stone-Campbell Movement of America’s early frontier days.

We practice unity and inclusion at the Lord’s Table, which is celebrated weekly.  As part of the body of Christ, we welcome all as the Lord has welcomed us.  The importance of communion in our tradition is the reason why a chalice with the cross of St. Andrew is our denomination’s logo.
